Pioneer Cycle Sports Announces Integration Partnership with Wahoo Fitness to Display Proprietary Power Meter Pedaling Monitor Metrics on ELEMNT and ELEMNT BOLT Cycling Computers

Five years ago, Pioneer's Cycle Sports division entered the cycling industry and disrupted the power meter category with its innovative approach, advanced technology and unique consumer electronics experience. Since then, cyclists have been utilizing Pioneer’s ecosystem of products and its Pedaling Monitor power meter technology to identify strengths and weaknesses in form and function of every pedal stroke, in real-time on the bike, to enhance pedaling efficiency and to go faster, longer. Pioneer’s Pedaling Monitor power metrics remain unmatched in the category and have gained respect and appreciation from athletes at every level, including professional cyclists, coached and uncoached athletes, and weekend warriors. To broaden access to Pioneer’s exclusive Pedaling Monitor technology and metrics, the company is partnering with Wahoo Fitness™, the leader in connected fitness devices, training ecosystems, and workout apps. Wahoo athletes riding with any Pioneer power meter will be able to access Pioneer Pedaling Monitor metrics on their Wahoo ELEMNT or ELEMNT BOLT with a simple firmware update to their cycling computer available at the end of September.

Each Pioneer dual leg power meter comes installed with four directional strain gauges and dual accelerometers per power meter arm that work together to precisely measure pedaling force, both radial and tangent. Propriety force direction and pedaling efficiency data is measured every 30 degrees, 12 times per crank rotation for each leg.
